Inside the Kellogg Hansen Office Redesign: How Collaboration, Craftsmanship, and Vision Transformed a Premier DC Law Firm
When one of Washington, DC’s most respected law firms set out to redesign its office, the goal was clear: create a space that reflects the precision, professionalism, and performance that define Kellogg Hansen. The result is a stunning law office redesign that blends high-end design, functional workspace furniture, and a deep commitment to quality. Miller’s is proud to be part of the collaborative team effort that brought this project to life.
Go Behind the Scenes. See The Project Come To Life.
We take you behind the scenes of this complex project—and share the story. See how a 36-foot quartz conference table, custom courtroom, and 14 manufacturers came together to create a world-class workspace.
A Vision Built on Precision and Partnership
As Craig Church, Executive Vice President of Miller’s Business Interiors, shares in the video, collaboration was the foundation of this project.
To bring Kellogg Hansen’s vision to life, Miller’s worked alongside an exceptional team, including:
- DCS Design – Architecture & Interior Design
- HITT Contracting – Construction
- IT Solutions – IT & Audio/Video Integration
- BXP – Property Management
- Cushman & Wakefield – Project Management on behalf of Kellogg Hansen
- Enwork – Custom Conference Table Manufacturing
- More than 14 total manufacturers contributing specialized furniture and materials
With unrelenting trial schedules and construction still underway, coordination and timing of the install schedule were critical. Every step required precision to avoid disruption and maintain progress.
Designing a High-End, Client-Facing Experience—On Time and Budget
Kellogg Hansen’s new space needed to project sophistication for clients while supporting the daily work of their attorneys and staff. It also had to do so within strict budget parameters.
One of the project’s most remarkable accomplishments is the 36-foot conference table, created using eight slabs of quartz. Built with Enwork’s Expanse base system, the table achieves a clean, modern aesthetic with only two legs supporting the entire length. This engineering allowed the team to create and deliver a show-stopping centerpiece without compromising budget or functionality.
Across the conference center and meeting rooms, Miller’s sourced high-quality, durable furniture solutions that exceeded performance needs while staying within financial goals, proving that exceptional design doesn’t require overspending when the right partners are involved.
A Custom Mock Courtroom Built for Real-World Trial Prep
One of the most unique features of the redesign is the fully custom mock courtroom, designed to help the firm prepare for complex cases, including those heard before the Supreme Court. This space required:
- A raised, multi-piece judges’ bench
- Integrated AV technology
- Custom millwork
- Concealed wiring and infrastructure beneath the platform
- Furniture built specifically for trial simulation needs
This specialized environment exemplifies how thoughtful workplace design can directly support organizational performance.
A Workspace That Reflects Excellence
From private offices to collaboration rooms, custom elements to functional everyday furniture, the redesigned Kellogg Hansen space is a perfect blend of:
- High-end aesthetic design
- Practical workspace functionality
- Long-term durability
- Intelligent space planning
- Seamless integration of technology
As Craig notes, the strength of the project lies not just in the beautiful finished spaces, but in the collaboration behind them. The combined effort allowed the team to meet ambitious goals while delivering a workspace that truly reflects the caliber of this respected DC law firm.
